Transferring from the University of Maine after her freshman year, junior guard Emily Rousseau has made quite a substantial impact in her second full season on the squad. Starting all 31 games last year for the Skyhawks, Rousseau finished the season second in the NE-10 in three-point percentage (.438) and fourth in free-throw accuracy at an impressive 87 percent, earning her a spot on the All-Northeast-10 second team.
After a very strong 9-2 fall season, the Stonehill women's rugby team opens the spring season set to play some of the most important games of the year. Currently ranked fifth nationally, the women are set to head to Florida from Apr. 15-19, to compete in the National Semifinals.If they are successful, they will have a chance to qualify for the National Finals at the end of the season which are to be held in California.
On Saturday, Feb. 20, the Stonehill men's basketball team secured the No. 1 seed and home court advantage throughout the NE-10 Tournament by clinching the NE-10 regular season title by defeating Southern New Hampshire University 52-40. This marks the sixth time in Skyhawks' history that the men have won the NE-10 and the first time since the 2005-06 season when they shared the title with Bentley.
Men’s Skyhawk soccer team begins what looks to be a magical season
The Stonehill College men's soccer team extended their winning streak to 3-0 for the second year in a row, with a 2-0 win over Queens College on Saturday. Senior Michael Bridges led the attack on Queens, scoring both goals for the Skyhawks. They were his first two goals of the season.
Stonehill football kicks off season with 1-0 start
Offense may win games but defense wins championships. This mantra was quickly put to use in the Skyhawks opening game on September 4 at Curry College. Stonehill would defeat the Colonels 20-14 in their season opener, using a smothering defensive attack to their advantage.
The long wait is over and the season of football has finally arrived
It's Sunday, September 12, and the sky is covered with dark gray clouds hovering over Stonehill. There is a cold wind that passes through the campus and a light drizzle that makes the day seem so bleak and dark. Yet there is an excitement that has overtaken the students at Stonehill and given everyone a reason to rejoice and enjoy what seems to be a miserable day.
